NEW WORK

Rename: It is the name you speak that I want to say.

Digital  Collage (2022) 52 cm h x 110 cm w

The subject matter depicts the nine floral emblems used across the nation by the wider community. The only indigenous language plant name chosen is Waratah-NSW. Others I discovered are Karrabnk-AUS, Malukuru-SA and Ballok-TAS. As a small act of reconciliation, if you know more please Insta-DM me.

WHAT NEXT

Digital Collage (2021) 25 cm h x 135 cm w.

Covid-19 has hit poor and vulnerable countries the hardest, threatening decades of hard-won gains while exacerbating existing inequalities in the poorest countries. Areas at the greatest risk of crises can be seen in my work. Covid-19 is a deeper, more synchronized, and widespread shock in human memory. We must work together now to assist the survival of the most affected countries.

To convey this theme, I use the compositional device of Abstract Comics to entice others to view the subject matter, which generates a rhythmic narrative.  By the end I hope they have taken the time to consider its meaning. To do this I create a digital collage by using hand drawn and painted comics page layouts with readymade images. I combine these digitally using an XP–Pen drawing tablet, Photoshop, and filters to blend several layers into a final image.
